Why this matters
Connecting opportunity with coordinated action

Legumes play a critical role in Malawi’s agricultural and economic landscape, supporting food security, smallholder livelihoods, and opportunities for value addition and trade.
Despite this potential, many parts of the system remain disconnected — from production and inputs to markets, investment, and policy.
The Legume Tour was created to bring these elements together in one coordinated platform, supporting more integrated and market-driven development across the sector.
Built on proven success
Following Malawi's most impactful agri-industry tours
The Groundnut Tour (2024) and Soybean Tour (2025) demonstrated the value of bringing stakeholders together in a structured, field-based environment — leading to real outcomes across the sector.
These tours generated strong engagement, from technology awareness to commercial conversations and emerging partnerships. Organizations that participated in previous tours have expressed interest in engaging further in the Legume Tour.
The Legume Tour builds on this momentum, expanding to multiple value chains and a broader audience, creating a more integrated platform designed to drive visibility, partnerships, and long-term investment opportunities.

Why this approach
From information to action
Traditional events often focus on sharing information. The Legume Tour is designed to go further — creating a space where insights lead to real engagement and action.
By combining field visits, structured discussions, and exposure to real-world operations, participants gain a clearer understanding of both opportunities and constraints.
The goal is not only to inform, but to support better decisions and tangible outcomes beyond the event itself.

A connected platform
One platform. Multiple perspectives.
The Legume Tour brings together a diverse ecosystem of stakeholders — from producers and input suppliers to processors, investors, policymakers, and development partners.
This multi-stakeholder environment creates a broader view of the sector, where different roles and perspectives intersect.
By bringing these elements into one platform, the event enables a more complete understanding of how the system operates and where opportunities exist.
